The four means of transport are roadways, railways, waterways and airways.

Answer:
The term ‘Settlements’ means the places where human beings built their homes. Before human beings lived in forests and in caves, but with time and advancement in vegetation, humans made homes to create settlements.

Answer:
The activities practiced by rural people are agriculture, fishing, forestry, crafts work etc are practiced by the rural people.

The 2 merits of railways are:
*Heavy goods like bricks can be easily transported to longer distances within a shorter period of time.
*It is also cheaper means of transport.

Answer:
The communication is the process by which we convey messages to others. Technology like telephones, mobile phones and the internet has helped us discover faster means of communication.

Answer:
The different means of communication like radio, television and newspapers have brought about an information revolution in the country. This mode of providing information is known as mass media.

People can communicate with anyone across the world while they are sitting at their home and can cover the longest distances within the shortest period of time. This has enabled people to easily get in contact with each other and has made the world well-connected.
