Chapter 2 Polynomials Exercise 2.1
Question 1: The graphs of y = p(x) are given in Fig. 2.10 below, for some polynomials p(x). Find the number of zeroes of p(x), in each case.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjknifgmr3jhd9kjS7Xn9q4pW1g6dqUlAwVkvHum5Fdz1hw1V_RiydjGdKlC0kdErSyRCOWTNOaAHauypcSSYga6XPAyrdWi3srKDPFgMHnOZiV-puJKSkebG58_xSVYobDQntfs7ozqzme/s16000/2.10+Ex+2.1.png)
i) No zeroes as the graph doesn’t touch the x-axis.
ii) 1 zero as the graph touch the x-axis only 1 time.
iii) 3 zeroes as the graph touch the x-axis only 2 times.
iv) 2 zeroes as the graph touch the x-axis only 3 times.
v) 4 zeroes as the graph touch the x-axis only 4 times.
vi) 3 zeroes as the graph touch the x-axis only 3 times.
