Unit 2: Relate AI Ready Solution

Activity 1: Writing Subjective Responses
Q1. What are the different appliances/equipments that you can think can be added to Smart buildings.
Answer:
The different appliances/equipments that can be added to Smart buildings are:
• IoT (Internet of Things) - All the systems should be connected through a common Internet Protocol platform to exchange and analyze information, optimizing each device’s controls automatically.
• Smart Security System - There should be smart security system, it will automatically activate full threat protection firewall if someone is trying to hack or breach the data, and also it will lock the system of hacker.
• Building Automation - If there is there is any damage in the building, it will automatically repair itself. These systems are compatible with IoT solutions, and are capable of monitoring and controlling important factors such as temperature, humidity, electricity, water pressure etc.
• Artificial Reality - Augmented reality is an interactive experience of a real-world environment where the objects that reside in the real world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information, sometimes across multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory etc.

Q2. What is the difference between Smart Homes and Smart Buildings?
Answer:

• Smart Homes
→ Smart Home has smart devices along with AI-powered technology to provide new possibilities.
→ These devices can then be controlled from anywhere, anytime using an app on your phone.
→ Smart Homes can monitor children and take care of their safety, and inform parents if something abnormal is detected.
→ These homes can sense that the home owners are leaving from offices or schools and can switch on ACs, monitor food usage.
• Smart Buildings
→ Smart buildings provide benefits to the users of the buildings. The number of smart buildings is increasing in the world.
→ The features and capabilities of smart buildings are also increasing. Smart buildings depend on smart appliances that interact with each other and with the internet.
→ The benefits of smart buildings are limited to the individuals using the building.
→ Smart homes are evolving and most of the so-called smart houses are only partly smart, i.e., they provide only limited specific functions.

Q3. Write about some of the dangers of Smart Buildings.
Answer:
Smart buildings are more at risk from cyber-attacks. Buildings with malware or any type of virus can cause chaos with connected buildings by interrupting systems or by getting personal data about those within. A hacker, once they have control of the systems, can cut off heating supplies, remove power or deny entry to a building. Ransomware can threaten to lock building systems until a fee is paid. Not only this, it will cause significant stress and expense, it can also result in financial damage in the form of fines and loss of reputation through negative press.

Q4. Write a few points on how living in Smart Cities will change your life.
Answer:
Living in Smart Cities will change our life in following ways:
• There will be less theft or crime.
• There will be safer communications.
• There will be upgraded infrastructure.
• Low traffic

Q5. What are the few AI-based technologies that you are using in your day-to-day life?
Answer:
The few AI-based technologies that we are using in our day-to-day life are
• Maps and Navigation (Google Maps etc)
• AI-powered Chat-bot (Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant etc)
• E-Payments (G-Pay, Paytm, etc)
• Facial detection and Recognition (Facebook, Google Lens etc)

Activity 2: Making Dream Smart Home Real
